This short film Goose Mountain is from the second episode of Yao-Chinese Folktales released by Shanghai Animation Film Studio, and is based on the story Yang Xian Scholar written by Jun Wu of the Liang Dynasty.
This short film focuses on the bizarre story of what a pedilar who enters the Goose Mountain to transport two geese witnesses and experiences after accidentally encountering a fox scholar. Through the use of traditional ink textures, unique character styles and spooky background music, it successfully portrays a dream-like story with a strong Chinese aesthetic of absurdity and grotesqueness.
